Janelle Dunlap is a Charlotte based creative that works in the intersection of social justice and art. Visual artists, curator and social change agent, her current projects include “Reclamation” a community engagement series that seeks to creatively intervene the negative effects of gentrification by reclaiming space, time and resources. She is a fellow with the public arts organization League of Creative Interventionists.

Dunlap has a 10 year background in non-profit management including direct services, philanthropy & youth development. Drawing on the narratives she was exposed to in her nonprofit career, she works to help other organizations design and implement effective grant writing and programming to ensure sustainable social impact. She is the only individual grantee to be awarded the inaugural UNITE Charlotte Grant in 2017 and most recently is the recipient of one of the largest Culture Blocks Grant given through the Mecklenburg County Arts and Science Council (ASC).
